Van Gogh said his sketchbooks were witnesses of his experiences, witnesses of things around him “as they happened.” Sketchbooks can also express the ineffable exchanges that take place within the creative process. These are selections of what might be called artist books and sketchbooks. As time for scanning allows, hopefully I can make more available as well. For now, a repurposed book of design collages, a photo documentary contrasting the slick and the grit of urban China, some watercolor sketches, some collage and mark-making, some illustration, and some poetry.
